Mosquito Wings and Nut Shells

I live in the Atlantic City, NJ area, and I was on my way to the Apple Store, which is located in a shopping pier on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City. I intended to put some of my original ministry work onto DVD, as I planned going to Camden Catholic High School the following Tuesday to speak and make a presentation to several classes about the horror of abortion.

My work is dedicated to saving the babies...God has opened that door for me.

As I drove into a casino parking garage ajacent to the shopping pier, I was in an accident.

Now exactly before I backed into the car behind me, looking for a spot to park, I was praying, "Lord, let's get this work done!" ... then CRASH!

I was so confused. The prayer words echoed in my head. Here I am wanting to get this work done for the Lord and here I am in a car accident instead.

As it turned out, it was only a fender bender.
The couple I backed into were so sweet and understanding, and I explained my ministry to them as we waited for almost an hour before the police came.

At first when this happened, I wanted to just "bag" the whole thing and drive home, but I said to myself, "I came here to get this done and this little fender-bender isn't stopping me".

As it turns out, since my appointment had to be changed, I wound up working with a former professor of Biology from Villanova University in PA, who I would not have met otherwise. This was a great Blessing.

We worked together on my project for three hours, and it came out great. It's finished now and is a very powerful witness for the babies!

Also... when I called my husband who was away driving RV'S all over the country, (his new job), I was surprised when he said, "Don't worry about the accident. That was just supposed to stop you and it didn't."

So what I learned from this experience is that God tests our resolve and Trust in Him, whether it's running through the rain, a fender bender, financial difficulties, sickness, anything unplanned, unexpected, unusual, or not in our power to control.

For heaven's sake, we are so loved and cared for, these little glitches are exactly what Henry David Throreau meant when he said, "...don't get upset about all the tiny mosquitoes wings and nut shells that fall on the tracks..."

In the final analysis, I always remember I will have to answer this question in the Presence of The Lord, "What did you do with your gift of life?"
